Recording & Voicetracking
The Session Editor supports direct recording from a microphone input. This allows voice tracks to be created within the context of surrounding audio.
Starting a Recording
- Add a recording track or select an existing one
- Position the playhead at the desired start point
- Click the Record button
- Recording begins during playback
- Click Stop to finish recording
The recorded audio appears as a new clip on the timeline.
Voicetracking Workflow
Rotation sessions provide a specialized workflow for recording voice introductions between rotation items.
Steps
- Open the session via the rotation item's session button
- The intro track (end of previous item) loads automatically
- The outro track (beginning of next item) loads automatically
- Click Add Recording Track to create a voice track
- Record moderation while hearing intro and outro for context
- Set the mix point to define when the outro track should start
- Click Save to link the session to the rotation item
Recording Modes
Free Recording
In standalone sessions, recording starts at the playhead position. No context tracks are loaded automatically.
Context Recording
In rotation sessions, intro and outro tracks provide audio context. The voice track is recorded while both context tracks are audible, allowing the presenter to time their delivery.
