   begins starts begins ends

Start and End crop the track. Audio before Start and after End does not play.

ExampleResult
Start = 1.0sSkips first second (intro, silence, count-in)
End = 183.0sCuts off everything after 3:03

Fade In creates a volume ramp from silence to full volume. The fade begins at Start and completes at the Fade In marker.

ExampleResult
Start = 0.0s, Fade In = 2.0s2-second fade from silence to full volume
Start = 1.0s, Fade In = 3.0sPlayback begins at 1s, fades in over 2 seconds

Fade Out creates a volume ramp from full volume to silence. The fade begins at Fade Out and completes at End.

ExampleResult
Fade Out = 180.0s, End = 183.0s3-second fade starting at 3:00
Fade Out = 175.0s, End = 180.0s5-second fade, track ends at 3:00

Mix determines when the next track begins playing. The scheduler starts the following track when playback reaches this point.

ExampleResult
Mix = 178.0s, Fade Out = 180.0sNext track starts 2s before fade begins (crossfade)
Mix = Fade OutNext track starts when fade begins (minimal overlap)
Mix not setNext track starts at End (no overlap)

Hook Start and Hook End define a preview segment. This segment plays when previewing tracks in the media library or scheduler.

ExampleResult
Hook Start = 60.0s, Hook End = 75.0sPreview plays the 15-second segment starting at 1:00

Attributes

The Attributes tab assigns a media type to the file.

Media Type: Select from the dropdown to categorize the file (e.g., Music, Jingle, Promo, Commercial).

Media types control how the scheduler handles tracks and which custom fields are available. See Types & Fields for configuration.

Restrictions

The Restrictions tab controls when a track can play.

Hour Restrictions

A 24-hour by 7-day grid displays playback permissions:

  • Filled circle: Track can play during this hour
  • Empty circle: Track is excluded during this hour

Click cells to toggle permission. Restrictions apply to automatic scheduling only; manual playback in the studio is not affected.
