Timeline & Tracks
The Session Editor uses a horizontal timeline where audio tracks are arranged and edited. Each track occupies a row on the timeline and can contain one or more audio clips.
Track Types

| Audio | Media items dragged from the Media Library |
| Recording | Voice tracks recorded directly in the session |
| Cartwall | Elements from the Cartwall for quick playback |
Adding Tracks
Drag and Drop
- Open the Media Library panel
- Drag an audio file onto the timeline
- Drop at the desired position
Add Button
- Click the Add Track button
- Select the track type
- Browse and select the audio source
Track Editing
Each track on the timeline can be edited non-destructively.
Position
Click and drag a track to move it along the timeline. The playhead position determines where the track starts playing.
Cropping
Set start and end points to trim the audio without modifying the original file.
- Select the track
- Open the cue point editor
- Adjust Cue In and Cue Out markers
- The visible waveform updates to reflect the trimmed region
Fades
Define fade-in and fade-out curves for smooth transitions.
- Select the track
- Set Fade In duration (milliseconds from cue in)
- Set Fade Out duration (milliseconds before cue out)
Volume
Adjust the track volume using the volume slider. Range: 0% (silent) to 200% (amplified).

Zoom and Navigation
Horizontal Zoom
Adjust the pixels-per-second ratio to zoom in or out on the timeline. Higher values show more detail for precise editing.
Vertical Zoom
Change the track height to see larger waveforms or fit more tracks on screen.
Timeline Navigation
- Scroll horizontally to move through the timeline
- Click on the timeline ruler to move the playhead
- Use keyboard shortcuts for frame-accurate positioning
Multi-Clip Support
Each track row can contain multiple audio clips. Clips on the same row play sequentially and cannot overlap. To layer audio, place clips on separate track rows.
