Recording & Voicetracking
The Session Editor supports direct recording from a microphone input. Voice tracks can be created within the context of surrounding audio.
Setting Up Recording
- Click Add Voicetrack to create a recording-capable track
- Enter a name and select a media type in the modal
- Click the link icon in the track sidebar to designate it as the active recording track
Configure the input device in Settings (gear icon) before recording.
Recording Process
The recording toolbar shows different controls depending on the state:

| Recording (playing) | Stop icon | Finish recording |
- Click the Record button (microphone icon)
- In rotation sessions, click the Play button to start playback of intro/outro context tracks
- Speak while hearing the surrounding audio for timing context
- Click Stop to finish recording
The recorded audio appears as a new clip on the timeline. Recordings shorter than 1 second are discarded automatically.
Cancel Recording
Press Escape to cancel a recording in progress. All changes from the recording session are reverted.
Automatic Normalization
After recording, the audio is automatically normalized to 0 dB peak level.
Voicetracking Workflow
Rotation sessions provide a specialized workflow for recording voice introductions.
- Open the session via the rotation item's session button
- The intro track (end of previous item) loads automatically
- The outro track (beginning of next item) loads automatically
- Click Add Voicetrack and designate it as recording track
- Record while hearing intro and outro for context
- Save to link the session to the rotation item
Audio Settings
Microphone Selection
Configure the input device via the Settings button (gear icon) in the toolbar. The settings modal shows input and output device selection.
