Session Editor

The Session Editor enables multi-track editing directly within the Studio. Edit sessions from the playlist without switching to the full Multi-Track Editor.

Opening a Session

Sessions in the playlist queue can be edited inline.

  1. Locate a session item in the playlist.
  2. Click the Edit icon on the session.
  3. The Session Editor tab opens in Panel A.

The session loads with all tracks visible in the timeline.

Timeline View

The editor displays a horizontal timeline with multiple tracks.

Elements:

  • Timeline Ruler: Time position in minutes/seconds
  • Track Lanes: Individual audio tracks stacked vertically
  • Playhead: Current playback position (red line)
  • Waveforms: Visual representation of audio content

Scroll horizontally to navigate through the session. Zoom using the zoom controls or mouse wheel.

Each track supports standard operations:

  1. Click the track header.
  2. Drag the volume slider.
  3. Changes apply in real-time.

Trimming non-destructively hides content. Original audio remains available.

  2. Drag the fade handle inward.
  3. A fade curve appears.

Adjust fade duration by dragging the handle. Double-click the handle for fade options (linear, logarithmic, S-curve).

Saving Changes

Save session edits before closing.

  1. Click Save in the editor toolbar.
  2. A confirmation appears.
  3. The session updates in the playlist.

Unsaved changes display a dot indicator on the Session Editor tab.

Closing the Editor

Close the session editor when finished.

  1. Click the close button (X) on the Session Editor tab.
  2. If unsaved changes exist, a warning appears.
  3. Choose Save, Discard, or Cancel.

The editor closes and returns focus to the Playlist tab.

Limitations

The inline Session Editor provides simplified editing compared to the full Multi-Track Editor.

Available in Session Editor:

  • Track volume and mute
  • Clip positioning
  • Basic trimming and fades

Use the full Multi-Track Editor for:

  • Adding new tracks
  • Recording audio
  • Advanced effects
  • Automation

Access the full editor via User Guide > Multi-Track Editor.

Playback During Editing

The session can play while editing.

  • Press Space to play/pause
  • Click the timeline to move the playhead
  • Edits apply immediately during playback

The session playback is local preview only. It does not affect the live broadcast until the session plays in the queue.
