Relay
The Relay panel connects the Studio to external audio streams. A relay streams audio from an external URL through the station's encoders.
While a relay is active, it replaces the local playout. No local tracks play until the relay stops.
INFO
Relay requires the appropriate plan entitlement and the relay:view permission.
Use Cases
- Simulcast from another station
- Bring in remote broadcasts via stream URL
- Rebroadcast network programming
- Emergency backup audio source
Opening the Relay Panel

The panel shows:
- Stream URL field (read-only by default)
- Connection status
- Codec information
- Track metadata
Connecting to a Stream
- Click Edit to make the URL field editable
- Enter the stream URL
- Click Connect
The URL field returns to read-only after saving. To change the URL later, click Edit again.

Connection Status
| Status | Meaning |

| Connected | Stream active and receiving audio |
| Connecting | Establishing connection |
| Disconnected | No active connection |

Codec Information
When connected, the panel displays stream details: codec, bitrate, sample rate, and channel count.
Track History
If the external stream provides metadata, the Relay panel shows the current track and previous tracks with timestamps.
Activating Relay Audio
Via Playlist
Add a Relay item to the studio playlist. The relay audio plays when the item is reached in the queue.
Via Relay Banner
When a relay is active, a banner appears in the Studio interface showing the relay status and metadata. The banner indicates that the relay has replaced the local playout.
Audio Level
Relay audio is controlled through the mixer. Adjust the relay volume in the Mixer tab in Panel A.
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect to end the relay connection. Any active relay audio in the broadcast stops.
Error Handling

| Timeout | Network issues | Check internet connection |
